My 2 year nappyversary + my 15 random natural hair tips

Hello ladies! I can't believe its been 2 years since I chopped off the relaxed ends from my hair! Just a little recap: I had my last relaxer in May of 2010 and I transitioned for 8 months. I big chopped in January of 2011 and I've been 100% relaxer free ever since. Along the way I have learned a lot of tips and tricks to retain length, keep moisture levels up and keep my hair in its healthiest state. I wanted to share some of them with you all as well as some pictures of the second year of my journey.

1. Deep condition often!
2. Once your hair is long enough wash in sections!
3. Moisturize and seal at least once a day
4. Try finger detangling with coconut oil before running a comb through your hair
5. Use a seamless wide tooth comb for your natural hair
6. Try combing your hair under the pressure of the makes detangling a lot easier
7. Try to "search & destroy" at least once a month
8. Keep your hair stretched at all times to prevent single strand knots and breakage
9. Protective styling is your BFF!
10. Limit the amount of heat you use on your hair to at least once every 3 months
11. Oils are essential to keeping natural hair soft
12. The pH of your hair is very important! Keep those cuticles sealed.
13. Don't trim you hair on a schedule, just trim as needed.
