♥ Water makes your hair grow

Water. The single most important part of any naturalista's haircare regimen and DO NOT let anybody tell you anything different! Water helps to hydrate, moisturize, detangle, condition, refresh and renew any mane. I know it may sound a bit hard to believe because when I was relaxed I would shield my hair from the rain as if it contained acid. However I have grown to love water and all of its wonderful properties.

Water to hydrate:
Water is not only just beneficial for your hair but it plays a role in many of your bodily processes. Water is essential for life and we need 8-10 cups of water per day. If you have ever noticed that your hair seems dry even though you condition, moisturize and seal like crazy, you may just be dehydrated. Ditch your daily Pepsi and go for a bottle of water everyday or carry a large refillable water bottle with you so you are reminded to drink.
Water to moisturize:
I use water to moisturize my hair especially at night. Before bed I will take a spray bottle filled with water and lightly mist my hair, then follow up with an oil of some kind to seal the moisture in my hair. By the next morning my hair is soft and lush. It never fails me

Water to detangle:
Have you ever tried to detangle your hair dry? I hope not because you are asking for breakage and splits all over the place. There are several ways you can detangle with water. Some prefer to mist their hair with water prior to shampooing and detangle that way. Others prefer to detangle their hair under the shower while loaded with conditioner using a seamless comb. Both methods are definitely effective although I prefer the latter. Either way water provides your hair with the "slip" that it needs so that seamless comb can glide through your fro.

Water to condition:
If you check your favorite moisturizing conditioners label you can see that water is probably one of the first listed ingredients. Water is definitely necessary to keep your moisture levels up and keep your hair looking its best. Sometimes at night I may spray my hair down, seal with oil and put a shower cap on for the night. It keeps my hair very soft and managable.

Water to refresh and renew:
Sometimes you may wake up in the morning and find that your 2nd day hair is lacking in some way. That it somehow looks dull or lacks luster. Your hair probably just needs a bit of water! Lightly mist that 2nd day style and see how much of a difference it makes!

So as you can see water is any curly girls best friend. Water will keep your hair healthy and shiny and allow you to retain length. Are you using water in all the ways that you can?? I know I do!
