A little clay and the beautiful skin shall play ♥

Blemishes, dark spots, pimples, zits, black heads whatever you may suffer from, skin care issues can be a drag. As a former chronic skin product junky, it gave me great grief to never find an over the counter product that worked. After trying every commercial product on the market, I began doing a little more research. I looked for a more natural approach and and the benefits that came along with them. The answer was so simple, clay.
Benefits: cost friendly, easy on the skin and best of all EFFECTIVE

However choosing the right clay depends on ones skin type whether oily, normal or dry. 

Oily skin
Bentonite clay is a highly absorbent making it ideal for oily skin. This clay contains over 70 trace elements and has the ability to absorb toxins, impurities, heavy metals, and other contaminants. Bentonite clay is used in many cosmetic products such as soaps, body wraps, masks and even hair washes.

French Green Clay is another very absorbent clay that literally "drinks" oils, toxic and impurities from your skin.  This clay has toning properties and stimulates blood circulation to the face providing a new revitalized complexion, and tightened pores. French Green clay contains many trace elements and phyto-nutrients. It is also amazing for problem skin areas on the skin yet gentle enough to use weekly leaving the skin refreshed and smooth.

Normal/ Oily Skin 
Fuller’s Earth clay is mainly composed of alumina, silica, iron oxides, lime, and magnesia. It has been widely used as a skin-lightening agent, ideal for treating dark spots. Fuller’s Earth clay also has high absorbent properties. This clay is highly recommended to those with acne problems, blemishes, and people prone to oily skin.

Normal Skin
Rhassoul is a mineral rich clay that blends extremely well with water. It is very high in trace minerals such as silica, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium. Because of its high mineral content, Rhassoul clay is a wonderful and effective clay for cleansing, detoxifying and for general skin care treatments. Rhassoul clay effectively enhances the skins elasticity, unclogs pores, removes dead skin layers, remove surface oils, and improve skin clarity appearance.  

Dry Skin
Kaolin clay is the most mild clay of them all, ideal for dry or sensitive skin. It is very versatile because of its gentle nature, mineral content, and its absorbent properties. This clay will gently draw impurities from the skin without removing natural oils while simultaneously exfoliating, cleansing, and stimulating circulation.  Kaolin clay is suitable for all skin types, whether oily, blemish prone, normal, sensitive, dry, or mature skin. 

Although there  are many different ways of using these clays, I have only made facial masks with them. Below are a couple ingredients that I mixed together and the benefits of them.

Bananas are rich in potassium, natural oils, carbohydrates, and vitamins, which helps with the elasticity, strength, shine, sun damage and much more

Honey is a humectant that helps draw out toxins and impurities from the skin. Honey also helps give the skin a natural glow and evens skin the skin tone.

Rosemary Oil and Tea Tree are essential oils that have antiviral antifungal-bacterial properties ideal for preventing bacterial formation with in the product as well as on the skin. Rosemary oil also helps circulation of blood. **** essential oils are extremely potent should not be used in high volume (maybe 3-4 drops). If used improperly burning and hypersensitivity may occur.**** 

Aloe vera is ideal for the skin. Its pH is that closest to the skin and it contains the highest concentration of healing agents. It also has helped to treat many skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, inflammation and wounds.

Avocados contains essential nutrients like proteins, vitamins A, D, E and B6, magnesium, copper, iron, amino acids and folic acid, all of which is extremely essential for skin nourishment. It is also a rich source of Lecithin, which gives a good penetrative qualities. It is also known to have natural sunscreen properties that can protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun.

Shea Butter contains vitamins A, E, and F.  Vitamins A and E help to soothe, hydrate, and balance the skin. Vitamin F contains essential fatty acids, and helps protect and revitalize damaged skin and hair.
